I just got word of this disturbing news today! The city of Philadelphia is now requiring its people to purchase a $300 business license to run a blog! Isn’t that crazy!?
Well, it is crazy! However I’m not surprised at all really. With the recent Big Brother encroachment over the net and other disturbing corporate assaults on net neutrality, like the Verizon Google issue, this type of thing seems to be becoming the norm. Click here to read the full post…

Drive more heavy traffic to your blog by turning your articles into tutorials.
One of the most difficult parts of blogging is continuously writing high quality content. Content is needed to keep information fresh on your site, to keep your readers coming back for more, and to distribute around the net to drive traffic and build links. You always want to write new content. Google will actually favor your site if you’re publishing unique content on a regular basis.
However, sometimes writing more unique content is a waste of time. Particularly when it comes to content that is to be distributed around the internet for traffic and link building purposes. When you’re doing this, I recommend not writing new content. Instead, I recommend recycling your content into different forms and formats. One really easy way to recycle your articles is to turn them into tutorials. Click here to read the full post…

RSS Feeds represent a great opportunity to create exposure to your website, and creating a customized RSS Feed is a great way to finish off a round of link building. RSS stands for “really simple syndication,” and here I will lay out the simple steps to create your own customized RSS Feed.
Your site’s RSS Feed is like a list of all your website’s articles, including all the links embedded within those articles. When you distribute these RSS Feeds to directories, you are also transforming each article on your site into tens or hundreds of links from multiple locations. Click here to read the full post…

Video distribution has become a powerful way to market yourself online. You can create one video and disseminate it across a wide array of video sharing sites. This method is usually used solely for generating traffic though since most video upload sites like YouTube do not give you followed backlinks with your videos.
This is the case for most video sharing sites, but there are a few more obscure sites out there that do allow for you to get a followed backlink with each of your video uploads. Whether you are trying to generate traffic or want to link build with videos, here are some quick steps to creating simple videos and uploading them around the web. This article will have a focus on uploading to sites that give backlinks, but the concept can be used for any kind of video distribution. Click here to read the full post…

For most people, going for the low hanging fruit usually means reaching for the easiest targets with the least amount of effort. In link building, this generally means building backlinks by posting comments on relevant (or sometimes not so relevant) forums and blogs. Calling it low hanging fruit is a good expression I think, but sometimes it’s not so easy to pick and may require a lot more effort than you originally set out for. You probably won’t get high page rank backlinks with low hanging fruit, but it’s a good way to rake in a few more links to your site. It’s a good method to increase your page rankĀ and is especially good if your site is rather new. Click here to read the full post…

To become a pro blogger you need to read the pro bloggers’ blogs. Actually, that’s not entirely true since reading is only a piece of the puzzle, but you can learn to see their techniques and how they rose to success. I learned almost everything I know about making money online and blogging from reading other peoples’ blogs. I just subscribe to a lot of their RSS feeds and read their free e-books when they’re available. It’s good to get into a habit of reading your feeds every day or two to keep up with new information and to continue learning because there is A LOT to know about internet marketing.
